Dr. Leslie Boni, Chair for the Finance, International, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Department at UNM Anderson,
will receive the Community Leadership Award at Anderson's 2013 Hall of Fame.
The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), the world's largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of
anti-fraud training and education, has announced the election of Richard G. Brody to the ACFE Board of Regents.
ACFE also recognized Professor Rich Brody as Educator of the Year. The prestigious ACFE
Outstanding Achievement Awards recognize the contributions of anti-fraud professionals worldwide. The
Educator of the Year Award is presented to an ACFE Educator member who has made an outstanding
contribution in anti-fraud education.
Anderson's John Benavidez receives the UNM Alumni Faculty Teaching Award.
John Benavidez has been teaching at UNM since 1997 upon graduating with his M.B.A. from Anderson.
His teaching focuses on marketing including, but not limited to, advertising, digital marketing,
promotions management, and marketing management. Benavidez constantly seeks to support students at
UNM. He serves as faculty advisor for Collegiate DECA and is a faculty representative on the Student
Union Building Board. After several years of teaching at the University, he received the Outstanding
Lecturer of the Year Award in 2004. In 2009, Benavidez received the Distinguished Professor Award
from The Wall Street Journal.
