Bio
Dr. Patterson received her PhD from Texas Tech University in 2007. Her research interests broadly focus on macroeconomic developments, most notably industry evolution and the specific determinants of industry trajectory. Empirically, she is interested in the emergence, acceptance and persistence of nontraditional practices, including complementary and integrative medicine, religion, athletics, online gambling and other stigmatized activities. She prefers a mixed methods approach to research, utilizing both historical archival analysis as well as longitudinal time-series analysis. Dr. Patterson serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Management Inquiry and has published in the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, and Sport Management Review, among other journals.
