About Allen Ezell:
Allen Ezell, Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, retired in
1991 after 31 years service. He has a degree in Accounting and worked
white collar crime cases. As part of his FBI duties, he spent eleven years
investigating fi ctitious colleges and universities in "Operation Dipscam"
(Diploma Scam). He testifi ed before the House Education Subcommittee
in 2005 and keeps up to date on both fi ctitious schools and academic fraud.
He is a frequent speaker on academic fraud and white collar crime before
academic, banking, and government bodies.
Allen is the co-author with Dr. John Bear in Degree Mills, Prometheus Books, 2005; is the author of Accreditation Mills, AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Offi cers), 2007, and just submitted his manuscript for Knock-Off Credentials-Counterfeit Diplomas & Transcripts to AACRAO for June, 2008 publication.
He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and is employed as Vice President, (Senior Investigator, Corporate Risk Consultant, Corporate Fraud Investigative Service), Wachovia Corporation, Tampa, Florida. He now specializes in mortgage fraud. He is married, has two daughters and two granddaughters, and enjoys numismatics, horology, and riding Amtrak in the West.
