MGMT 322 Research Participation

The Department of Marketing Research Participation Program has been temporarily suspended during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. We will update this page with new information as the situation evolves. For information from the University of New Mexico regarding the institution’s pandemic response, please refer to: www.unm.edu/coronavirus.

The Department of Marketing requires that all students taking MGMT 322 participate in research. To complete this requirement, you must complete two research participation credits.

Two options are available to earn research credit:

  1. Marketing lab session (worth 1 research participation credit) - Participate as a subject in a research study conducted in the Anderson Behavioral Lab.
  2. Alternative assignment (worth 1 research participation credit) - Read a scientific journal article and answer questions about it.

No partial research participation credits will be granted.  In order to receive the full 5% of your final grade, students must complete both research participation credits.

Your two research participation credits can come from any combination of marketing sessions or alternative assignments. In other words, you can either complete two marketing sessions, submit two alternative assignments or complete one marketing lab session and submit one alternative assignment to fulfill the course requirement.

It is important to note that alternative assignments are provided for students who choose to not participate in lab sessions, and therefore should not be used to make up for missed lab sessions. The first alternative assignment is due by the end of the time-period during which Marketing Session A is running, and the second alternative assignment is due by the end of the time-period during which Marketing Session B is running. No late submissions will be accepted.
