Canvas Trainings

The Canvas Training Portal is available to faculty through December 31, 2023. This portal has dozens of training topics for Higher Education administrators and instructors. Trainings are available in asynchronous and in live interactive formats.

Accessing the Canvas Training Portal

  1. Log in to canvas.unm.edu using your UNM NetID and Password.
  2. On the left navigation menu, select “Help” and a new menu will expand.
  3. Select "Training Services Portal".
  4. A pop up will ask you if you authorize the portal to access your account. Select "Authorize".
  5. The top icon is the "Training Services Tutorial" – it is recommended that all faculty take 10 minutes to learn about what this robust portal has to offer.
  6. Filter or scroll to "Higher Ed" and search for training modules.

  • Conducting course reviews based on best practices for online instruction.

  • Providing one-on-one consultations to assist faculty with course design.
  • Discussing ideas and strategies for building and executing course content.
  • Strategizing course improvements based on student feedback and best practices.
  • Troubleshooting errors and hiccups in Canvas.
