Anderson Schools Announces Spring Certificate Programs

The Management Development Center at UNM’s Anderson Schools of Management is offering seven certificate programs in Albuquerque beginning the week of January 27th. The programs are Marketing, Coaching Skills for Managers, Quality Management, Basic Accounting, Human Resource Management, Basic Management and Advanced Management. These programs offer professionals the opportunity to develop and improve job-related skills in just 12 weeks without having to be formally admitted or enrolled in the University.

The Marketing Certificate Program is designed to provide non-marketing managers, small business owners, nonprofit directors, and government employees an understanding of marketing functions and concepts. Participants will gain a set of concepts, procedures, and tools to aid them in understanding the role of marketing and the concepts learned will enable them to increase the effectiveness and profitability of their organizations.

The Coaching Skills for Managers Certificate Program is for managers, supervisors, team leaders, human resource and organizational development professionals, and anyone wanting to learn coaching and advanced communication skills. Coaching is a system that promotes innovation and accelerated results, improves retention and development, and facilitates improved communication and team effectiveness. In this course, participants will also receive three coaching sessions with a trained business coach.

The Quality Management Certificate Program is designed for practitioners and those interested in quality principles. It provides a valuable framework for quality excellence and will help participants identify and assess organizational performance on a wide range of key business indicators.

The Basic Accounting Certificate Program is designed for non-financial managers who need to understand the fundamentals of accounting and finance. In addition to mastering the basics, participants will learn how to make sound business decisions using relevant accounting information.

The Human Resource Management Certificate Program provides an overview of the six key areas in human resource management. Designed for experienced HR professionals, HR specialists who want to develop a generalist point-of-view, managers new to the HR field, and non-HR senior managers, this course prepares participants for the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) PHR and SPHR national certification examinations.

The Basic and Advanced Management Certificate Programs are designed to improve individual and group productivity and job performance. Participants will focus on practical issues related to their organizations and have the ability to network with individuals with similar experiences.
