A Taste of Anderson, Creative Kitchen: A Culinary Event honors Rick and Debbie Johnson, the power couple who started the Rick Johnson and Company ad agency in Albuquerque in the 70s and beat all the odds by making it one of the top firms in the Western United States. The marketing center at UNM Anderson was named after them in August 2011.
The state-of-the-art marketing center gives Anderson students enrolled in upper-division marketing courses access to the latest technological advances in the marketing industry. Anderson Marketing has a history of beating top-flight colleges and universities in national competitions, including top honors in Energy Tomorrow: America's Challenge, a national marketing case study competition sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute as well as competitions sponsored by Cadillac, Subaru of America, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"These competitions are a great educational experience for our students," said Anderson Dean Doug Brown. "They enable them to associate with others who are at the top of their game."
The Rick and Debbie Johnson Marketing Center at UNM Anderson School of Management is the perfect pairing of outstanding education with real-world excellence. We appreciate our community partners who add to the recipe with their continued support of our educational programs. Participating restaurants include: Albuquerque Country Club, The Artichoke Café, Marcello's Chophouse, Nob Hill Bar and Grill, Savoy Bar & Grill, Scalo Northern Italian Grill, Seasons Rotisserie & Grill, Standard Diner, Yanni's Mediterranean Bar & Grill, Zinc Wine Bar & Bistro, Chartwells, The Cooperage, The Daily Grind, Gruet Winery, and Kelly's Brew Pub.
