New organization provides support for New Mexico nonprofits

Albuquerque, New Mexico — NonProfit Back Office Resources (NPBOR), a newly formed 501(c)3 organization dedicated to educating, training, and assisting New Mexico nonprofit organizations, will answer nonprofit questions at their inaugural open house on Thursday November 8, 2:00 to 4:00pm at their offices located at 1503 University Blvd. NE (behind Blood Services). The open house is free and open to all nonprofits in New Mexico.

Areas of expertise to be covered include:

  • IRS Form 990 and other tax issues

  • Financial reporting

  • Human resources

  • IT and cloud computing

  • Legal issues and state compliance

  • Employee benefits and grantor expectations

Nonprofits seeking information or guidance are invited to stop by, visit with the experts, enjoy refreshments, and drop off a business card to enter drawings for door prizes. Registration for the November 8 open house is recommended, but not necessary. To register go to:

NPBOR seeks help nonprofits flourish, fulfilling their missions while being accountable to their boards, donors and clients. The organization also provides UNM students with internship opportunities and utilizes the volunteer expertise of UNM Anderson School of Management faculty and professionals from around New Mexico. Minimal fees are charged for some services based on a client’s ability to pay.
