UNM Provost Announces Appointment of Craig White as Dean of Anderson School of Management for a Term of Three Years

After consultation with faculty and staff in the Anderson School of Management, and with the appropriate university officers, Provost Chaouki Abdallah announced today that Craig White, current interim dean will serve as dean for the next three years in order to maintain the positive momentum of the School. Dr. White has served as the interim dean since July of 2014.

"Dr. White has successfully stepped in the leadership position after the retirement of the former dean, Douglas Brown. I am extraordinarily pleased that during his tenure, he earned great support from the Anderson faculty and staff and that he has agreed to stay on for an additional three years so that the initiatives underway can be realized. Of great importance is maintaining their positive accreditation status as well as construction of the first phase of their new building," said Abdallah.

Dr. White's teaching and research specialization is in the area of federal income taxation. He holds both a Ph.D. and Master's degree in Accounting from Texas Tech University and a BBA from Texas A&M University.

"It has been a privilege working with the Anderson School's faculty and staff over the past 14 months as Interim Dean. I am very excited to have the opportunity to now serve as Dean as we continue to focus on our core mission of management research, education, and community service."

Dr. White's research interests include the effect of tax incentives on business decision making, ownership of intellectual property, and business startups commercializing new technologies. His work has been published in a variety of academic and professional journals. Dr. White's consulting work has focused on helping organizations use data to improve business decision making and to efficiently comply with accounting reporting requirements.
