February 23, 2018

Farm Credit(Albuquerque, NM) The Anderson School of Management welcomes Farm Credit of New Mexico as a financial supporter of the school's finance and accounting student organizations.

On Wednesday, February 21, 2018 Farm Credit of New Mexico staff, who graduated from UNM, presented a check to the student members of the Finance Management Association and Beta Alpha Psi for $50,000.

"As a cooperative, Farm Credit of New Mexico is thrilled to be able to support these student groups at UNM's Anderson School of Management," said Al Porter, President and CEO. "The accounting and finance areas of business are important to New Mexico's economy and Farm Credit of New Mexico. We are proud to support these fields of study."

Anderson professor Dr. Reilly White says this partnership will go far in supporting Anderson students.

"As the faculty advisor for Financial Management Association, I want to thank Farm Credit for its generous support of our finance students," said Reilly. "This level of outside sponsorship and funding will go toward supporting our initiatives in mentoring our students to be the best finance graduates UNM can offer. We are incredibly grateful."

Anderson Dean Craig White, and former faculty advisor for Beta Alpha Psi, says Anderson accounting students will benefit from the endowment funds.

"Beta Alpha Psi's mission is to provide accounting students real world experiences and connections. Farm Credit of New Mexico's gift will expand the opportunities for the members to interact with current professionals, thereby, helping to launch their accounting careers. We appreciate Farm Credit for supporting this important part of the educational experience."

Farm Credit of New Mexico currently has an extensive internship program and it is committed to strengthening its relationship with UNM to provide Anderson students important learning opportunities while they are still in school.
