29th Annual Hall of Fame Banquet
March 22, 2018 - Leslie Venzuela
The Anderson School held its 29th annual Hall of Fame Banquet and Fundraiser on March 6, 2018.
The event recognized Anderson Alumni Gary Gordon, Sheila Mendez, Stephine Poston, and Anthony Trujillo as Hall of Fame inductees; Matthew Sanchez, and Daniel Trujillo as the Young Alumni awardees. Distinguished Professor Sul Kassicieh was posthumously honored with the Faculty Community Leadership Award, becoming the first faculty member to receive it twice, and Christopher Carian as the Distinguished Service Award recipient. It was an outstanding event!
The more than 500 attendees enjoyed the interactive nature of the dinner and program as well as the funding opportunities benefitting our student scholarships. The preliminary estimate is that the net proceeds were in excess of $152,000. This all goes towards scholarships for students! The Hall of Fame is truly the Anderson School's signature event and we are very proud of how it showcased our outstanding alumni.
Special thanks to Darrell Garcia, Leslie Venzuela, Megan Borders, Joe Weiss, Veronica Gualeni and Cat Griego. Their tireless work and commitment for months showed in the great success of the dinner and fundraiser! Also, thank you to the staff and student volunteers who helped with setup, raffle ticket sales, with the auction, and a variety of other tasks.
In addition, the School had a first-ever event the evening before the Hall of Fame dinner that brought together all prior inductees into the Hall of Fame, prior young alumni winners, and prior faculty committee leadership award and distinguished service award winners. The reception at the University Club was followed by a tour of the new McKinnon Center for Management. It was great to welcome all the honorees back to Anderson.
