When I was looking for the perfect MBA program, I didn’t have to look far. As an undergrad at UNM, I already knew that Anderson would be a good fit for me. I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio and came to Albuquerque three years ago for the first time. It was golf that drew me here, but I immediately fell in love with the Southwest – the mountains, the desert, the people, the culture. It was more than enough to convince me to transfer schools from Youngstown State University to UNM.

I started my sophomore year of college at UNM in the economics program. Playing golf for the Lobos and studying kept me very busy. I was on schedule to graduate in three years – leaving me with one more year of eligibility and nothing to study. I knew I wanted to get a master’s degree, I just didn’t know that I could do it so soon. An advisor suggested I apply to the 3-2 MBA program which allows undergraduates to start their MBA while finishing their undergrad degree. I completed my application just in time to be accepted for Spring 2019. For the spring and fall semesters of 2019, I was enrolled in two undergraduate classes and three graduate classes – all at the undergraduate tuition rate.

I graduated in December 2019 with my BA in Economics and I am now enrolled full time in the MBA program. I’m so glad that I found the 3-2 program when I did because it helped me get a jump-start on my MBA. I decided to get a concentration in finance which fits in great with my economics background. I’ll graduate in December 2020 and I can’t wait to see what opportunities my MBA will uncover for me. I’ve already met so many great students and professors who love what they do. New Mexico is truly my home away from home.
