Honors

Baccalaureate degree recipients who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and have earned a minimum of 60 hours in residence at UNM are automatically awarded Baccalaureate Honors by the University. The designations are as provided below.*

Magna cum laude3.75 to 3.89
Summa cum laude3.90 and above
  • Recognition in the Commencement Program: Recognition in the Anderson graduation program is determined by the cumulative GPA from your most recently completed semester, and it requires the student to have completed 30 credits at UNM.
  • Honors on your diploma: Once all grades have posted, if your cumulative UNM GPA is within the above range and you have met the residency criteria, honors will be printed on your diploma.

Baccalaureate degree recipients who have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and have earned between 30-59 hours in residence at UNM are awarded Anderson School of Management honors. This status is acknowledged in the Anderson Convocation program only. Students qualify for only one honors designation depending on total credit hours completed at UNM.

Privacy Flag Waiver

The names of any graduating students who have a privacy flag set on their student record will NOT be printed in the virtual ceremony program or displayed during the ceremony, unless they fill out and submit a Limited Privacy Flag Waiver form.
