At UNM Anderson, we believe learning should occur everywhere – not just in the classroom.
The Student Engagement, Empowerment and Development (SEED) Center is a space designed by and for business students. It is a place for students to meet, study and share ideas. The SEED hosts workshops and events at the beginning of the term, and during midterms and finals. Students are encouraged to utilize the Center to meet and connect with their classmates.
Our organizations represent a diverse set of communities and disciplines, but all are dedicated to excellence of service in business and management. A list of some of our highlighted student organizations can be found below.

Explore your passions, get involved and make lasting connections. The Anderson Living Learning Community support the academic, social and professional development needs of Lobos as they pursue their academic dreams. Students in this community have the opportunity to partake in academic experiences with their peers and interact with faculty and alumni in a diverse environment that shares scholarly interests. Students will be part of a close-knit program that supports academic success, cultivates a safe and supportive environment, encourages professional identity, fosters social responsibility, and develops leaders.
All first-year, fall entry students are automatically placed into unique academic cohorts of around 40 students each through the required BUSA 1110 – Business Building Blocks course. Our cohorts are designed to meet the academic, social and professional needs of students. Support for cohorts is provided by dedicated academic advisors, career coaches and cohort peer leaders. In your BUSA 1101 seminar, you will learn about majors and careers, campus resources, student organizations and academic success strategies. You’ll gain the knowledge you need to successfully plan your college program and prepare for your future business career.
The Anderson Learning Lab is a free academic support program available to all Anderson students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate classes. We offer free, peer-based consultations/tutoring in a range of business classes, available both in person and online. Students can work with peer tutors, attend review sessions before key exams, and attend prep sessions to refresh their understanding of core ideas to prepare for coursework.
