Each year, the Anderson School of Management Alumni Association hosts several events to celebrate homecoming week at UNM. Homecoming is an exciting time to come together and celebrate all the great things happening here at Anderson. Please read the recaps below of this year’s homecoming events. We look forward to seeing you next year!
One of the most important ways that we can help Anderson tell its story is to provide opportunities for authentic engagement between faculty, staff, students, and alums. This year, during UNM’s 125th anniversary, we decided to celebrate by hosting a faculty/student showcase highlighting the great work being performed by Anderson students.
With the theme “Howl at 125” in mind, the Anderson Alumni Association asked Dr. Manuel Montoya and International Business Students Global (IBSG) to present a vision of global engagement for the Anderson community. Since 2010, IBSG has worked on over a dozen impactful global issues such as Bridges to Tajikistan, Global Mosaic, Olympics 2016-Rio and Indigenous Voices, Outside the Margins, Bitcoin and the Digital Economy, and much more!
The event, which was held at the UNM Faculty and Staff Club, was outstanding as guests were able to learn about the history of global engagement in New Mexico and the cultural/economic relevance of our great state. Furthermore, guests in attendance were able to interact with students to learn even more about their specific projects. At no time in the worlds history has global engagement been so relevant. With the help and support of Dr. Montoya, IBSG is paving a path for future generations of Anderson students and alumni.
Thank you Dr. Montoya and IBSG for presenting your vision of global engagement to the Anderson community!

What homecoming week is complete without a homecoming football game and tailgate? With the help from our friends at JR’s Barbecue, the annual Anderson homecoming tailgate was the talk of the stadium. Guests enjoyed an on-site meal served out of our very own chuck wagon as they prepared to watch the Lobos take on the Fresno State Bulldogs.
More than 150 Anderson alumni, faculty, staff, students, and their family members attended this Friday evening event. Guests from all over the state and country made their way back to Albuquerque to help us close out a great homecoming week. Though the Lobos did not win, the Anderson tailgate and Anderson section in the stands were filled with joy, laughter and excitement.
Thank you to all who helped put this tailgate together. We look forward to seeing you next year.
