How to Regain the Public Trust: A Path to New Beginnings

According to a Pew Research Center survey released this year, 80 percent of Americans have little faith in government. New Mexicans are no exception. Some would argue that intense partisanship is feeding the distrust. Restoring trust requires some sense of bipartisanship and compromise at all levels of government, including Washington. It requires that we put the public's best interests first. The State Investment Council is adopting a series of reforms that are designed to produce excellent investment returns, adhere to ethical standards and follow the best practices of the investment management profession.
