Anderson Schools Announces Summer Certificate Programs

Certificate Programs in Business Communications, Marketing, The Nuts and Bolts of Human Resources, and Basic Management will be offered this summer by the Management Development Center at UNM's Anderson Schools of Management. These programs offer professionals the opportunity to develop and improve job-related skills without having to be admitted or enrolled in the University.

The Business Communications Certificate Program is a new 12-week course designed for those interested in developing the essential skills of interpersonal communication, business writing, presentations, and meeting facilitation. Participants will learn practical, proven techniques for communicating effectively, writing with credibility, improving leadership skills, and projecting a more confident, polished and professional image.

The Marketing Certificate Program is a 12-week course designed to provide non-marketing managers, small business owners, nonprofit directors, and government employees an understanding of marketing functions and concepts. Participants will gain a set of concepts, procedures, and tools to aid them in understanding the role of marketing and the concepts learned will enable them to increase the effectiveness and profitability of their organizations.

The Nuts and Bolts of Human Resources Certificate Program is an intensive, interactive six-week course that will help HR professionals keep their knowledge and skills up-to-date. This course is a must for HR professionals who want to gain insight into key HR functions, establish a framework for integrating HR activities throughout their organization, and prepare a specific plan for developing the skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage an HR department.

The Basic Management Certificate Program is a 12-week course designed for employees at all levels, from all types of organizations, who wish to improve their individual job performance. The program is especially useful for anyone preparing to move into a managerial position and for newly appointed supervisors with little or no formal management training. Professionals who need to review basic management principles and techniques will also benefit from attending this course.
