UNM ANDERSON PRESENTS THE BUSINESS TO BUSINESS BREAKFAST SERIES WITH BONNIE HILL

(Albuquerque, NM) Bonnie Hill, Ed.D., President of B. Hill Enterprises, LLC, will discuss Unintended Consequences: The Politicization of Corporate America on Thursday, February 16 as part of the Anderson School of Management's Business to Business Breakfast Series at the Embassy Suites Hotel.
In the past 25 years, the United States has seen an unprecedented change in the field of Corporate Governance. There have been periods of great prosperity and periods of recession, as well as corporate corruption and scandals as in the case of Enron, Tyco, Worldcom and others. The result has been a move from corporate governance being a matter of state law, to considerable political intervention from Washington D.C., and the implementation of new laws such as Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank.
What is the effect of these regulatory interventions? And has enough attention been given to unintended consequences such as the cost to shareholders, small businesses and pensioners? Ms. Hill will use her expertise in corporate governance, board organizational and public policy issues to offer answers as part of her lecture and discussion.
Ms. Hill is the president of B. Hill Enterprises, LLC, a consulting firm specializing in corporate governance and board organization. She has over 20 years' experience serving on corporate boards and a wide-ranging career in business, government, education and philanthropy. She serves on the boards of The Home Depot, Yum Brands, Inc., AK Steel, and California Water Service Group. In 2010, the National Association of Corporate Directors recognized Ms. Hill as one of America's most influential people in Corporate Governance and in 2011 she was named an Outstanding Director by the Financial Times' Outstanding Director Exchange. She is also the former Dean of the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia and served as the Senior Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at the Los Angeles Times.
The Anderson Business to Business Breakfast Series is sponsored by Sibilla and George Boerigter of SoundOff Signal. The lecture series hosts business leaders from across the country to speak on relevant, hot button topics of interest. The event on February 16 will take place at the Embassy Suites Hotel, and is offered at no cost to the business community and general public.
