(Albuquerque, NM) The Anderson School of Management Foundation Board of Directors is pleased to announce the addition of five new members.

The new board members are: Michael A. Emerson, New Mexico Community Capital; Dennis Garcia, US Bank; Terri Giron-Gordon, GenQuest, Inc.; Stuart Schoenmann, Norwest Equity Partners; and Vickie R. Wilcox, Wilcox Law Firm, P.C.

The Anderson School Foundation Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Dean of the Anderson School. Anderson Dean Doug Brown says board members are important to the school.

"Anderson Foundation Board members provide an essential link to the community," says Brown. "They drum up support, volunteer ideas and resources, and give us invaluable community feedback."

The Anderson Foundation board also sponsors the annual Hall of Fame Awards Banquet, and generates resources for Anderson’s nationally recognized programs in business and management education. The new slate of directors was effective July 1, 2012 with each member serving a three-year term.


Michael Emerson is the Vice President of Strategic Business Services at New Mexico Community Capital. In his role, he develops and implements a wide range of business advisory services for NMCC clients and investment portfolio companies. Previously, Michael was a part-owner and senior manager of ARES Corporation, a national engineering consulting firm. He serves on the boards of the NM Renewable Energy Transmission Authority and the Kirtland Partnership Committee. At the University of New Mexico, he is an advisory group member for the Cecchi VentureLab, Tamarind Institute, and the Mechanical Engineering Department and is a former Trustee of the UNM Foundation. Michael received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from UNM and his MS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Washington.

Dennis L. Garcia is a Senior Vice President at US Bank (formerly First Community Bank) responsible for managing the Treasury Management sales and support functions for the institution. Dennis has more than 32 years of experience in management. He focuses on customer service in a business to business setting specifically in the banking, logistics services, and telecommunications industries. Mr. Garcia has a BBA in Finance and a MBA in Finance from the Anderson School of Management and was a lecturer at the school for the Fall 2011 semester.

Terri Giron-Gordon is the President and owner of GenQuest with more than 25 years of experience as a corporate trainer, facilitator, and mediator. GenQuest helps organizations perform at optimal levels by providing the people, services, tools, and resources they need to create a work.Happy® environment, a setting that helps employees maintain a work/life balance in a positive working environment. GenQuest provides professional services to government agencies, federal contractors, the education sector, and private businesses. Ms. Giron-Gordon is a member of the board for the Samaritan Counseling Center, and serves on the Executive Leadership Team for the American Heart Association’s "Go Red for Women" campaign. She was also honored this year by induction to the Anderson School Hall of Fame. Terri has a BBA from the Anderson School and a Master of Arts in Public Administration from UNM.

Stuart Schoenmann is the Operating Partner at Norwest Equity Partners. He specializes in the acquisition and management of high tech companies. Previously, Stuart was the CEO of CVI Melles Griot for eight years. During that time, he grew the international photonics company seven fold through strategic acquisitions and organic growth. Stuart graduated from the University of California, San Diego with degrees in physics, mathematics, and economics. He earned his MBA from the University of Southern California. Mr. Schoenmann also serves on the board of the New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation.

Vickie R. Wilcox of the Wilcox Law Firm, P.C., is a Board Certified specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law. She graduated from Deming High School in southern New Mexico and earned her Bachelor of Arts in political science from George Washington University in Washington D.C. She attended the University of New Mexico School of Law and received her Masters of Law in Taxation ("LL.M.) from New York University. Ms. Wilcox serves on the Board of Trustees for the Albuquerque Community Foundation, and is the Chair of the Professional Advisor Group. She is also on the Board of the New Mexico Chapters of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and the Financial Planning Association, and a Board Member of the State Bar of New Mexico Real Property, Probate, and Trust Section.
