UNM ANDERSON PROFESSOR RECEIVES EDUCATOR AWARD
November 6, 2012
This is the second time in four years that Dr. Young has received the honor from the NMSCPA for her outstanding accomplishments in the classroom that enhance the reputation of the CPA profession. She also received the award in 2008.
Dr. Craig White, Chair of the Anderson Accounting Department, said it is a great accomplishment to be named Outstanding Accounting Educator.
"The award recognizes the importance of Dr. Young's role in educating New Mexico's future CPAs and reflects her continued commitment to excellence across all facets of the academic mission," said Dr. White.
NMSCPA President & CEO John Carey says recognizing CPAs who have distinguished themselves in their field is one of the most rewarding events sponsored by the society. Dr. Young accepted the award at the NMSCPA Pride in the Profession luncheon on Friday, November 2 at the Embassy Suites.
Professor Young also holds the title of "Visiting Professor" at the London School of Economics and was recently named the top U.S. researcher in her field. She has been a faculty member at UNM Anderson since 1992.
