UNM Alumni Chile Roast
Alumni chapters throughout the country are prepping their grills and ordering New Mexico green chile for their annual fall green chile roasts and picnics. From August through October, across the nation, UNM alumni chapters roast more than six tons of chile each year!
The first green chile roasting events were held in 1997 during the Alumni Association's Centennial Celebration. UNM alumni chapters continue the tradition today -- helping hundreds of students to become Lobos from the chapters' communities. And this year is the first ever Albuquerque Alumni Chile Roast! Hanging of the Greens is UNM's oldest tradition! Our campus is adorned with luminarias as students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members gather to stroll among historic campus buildings illuminated by thousands of these beautiful New Mexico holiday lanterns.
Before your campus stroll to Hodgin Hall for biscochitos and hot chocolate, stop by Anderson for delicious food, warm drinks and the chance to reconnect with fellow Anderson Alumni. Don't miss out on this festive occasion!
