UNM Faculty-Led International Programs
Study Abroad in Italy, Summer 2012
A special topics course will be offered in June 2012 for MBA students exploring international entrepreneurship in cultural industries. Advanced undergraduate students will also be allowed to complete the program with the permission of the instructor. The course will utilize the Italian context to study cultural entrepreneurship so that students may develop ideas for cultural entrepreneurship involving their home communities. The cultural industries studied will include agritourism and cultural tourism, wine, slow food, and design-intensive businesses. The class will join students from MGT 328 for a series of site visits and guest speakers. The course will be taught by UNM Professor Dante Di Gregorio. The price of the program will be $1,300 plus tuition for 3 credit hours. This price includes lodging, approximately one half of all meals, supplemental course materials, and excursions. It does not include airfare to Rome, certain meals, or the textbook.
Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis. We anticipate the program will fill by March 2012, and students must apply by March 1 in order to be eligible for a UNM Regents Scholarship for Study Abroad (undergraduates only). In order to apply, you must complete an online application and submit a $200 deposit, which will be applied toward the program fee once you are accepted into the program.

Study Abroad in Mexico, End of May 2012
MGMT 490/594 Strategic Management in Mexico
This summer, Anderson will again be offering a Mexico summer study abroad program for both undergraduate (MGMT 490) and graduate students (MGMT 594). The class is scheduled to occur May 16-27 in the greater metro area of Leon, Mexico in cooperation with Centro Fox and the León campus of the Tec de Monterrey (ITESM). Students will have the opportunity to earn 3 credit hours from UNM. The bi-national classroom, consisting of students from UNM and from the local area, will be led by UNM professor Doug Thomas (firstname.lastname@example.org) with numerous guest speakers (including former President Vicente Fox) and site visits. It will serve as a unique educational opportunity for students wishing to learn more about the Mexican economy and business environment. Centro Fox is an ideal location because it is the presidential library and learning center of former President Vicente Fox. Please contact Professor Thomas if you would like more information.
