Alumni Council Hosts Call-a-thon: Lobos Helping Lobos
February 2, 2022 - Anna Dykeman
While many were doing their last-minute holiday shopping and party hopping, a dedicated group of Anderson Alumni Council members, faculty and staff spent the evening of Dec. 21 making phone calls to Anderson students who had paused their studies. In all, 232 calls were made, connecting with 104 students and helped them to map out their next steps to resume progress toward their degrees.
Michelle Dearholt, executive vice president of operations for Nusenda Credit Union and Anderson Alumni Council chair, shared her perspective on the call-a-thon:
“Connecting with students, providing guidance, and now advocating for those who have encountered education hurdles are some of the best things about the Anderson Alumni Council,” she said.
“This call-a-thon was a great way to connect with Anderson students and help them in real time. Opportunities like this are why I love to serve on the Council and give back to the school that prepared me. We look forward to this becoming a signature event that alums can look forward to. Thanks to all that participated!”
