Anderson COVID-19 Limited Operations

Last Updated March 30, 2020

The University of New Mexico is taking several safety precautions to help combat the spread of COVID-19, or more commonly known as coronavirus.

President Stokes announced that from March 17 through April 5, UNM campuses (excluding clinical operations) will be operating in a limited capacity to prioritize the health and safety of students, employees and the public.

Effective Tuesday, March 17, the UNM Anderson School of Management is making temporary changes to its operations. Please be sure to check the UNM Anderson website and UNM’s COVID-19 website for any additional changes or updates.

UNM Anderson's temporary changes in operations are as follows:

MCM, GSM, and ASM Access

The McKinnon Center for Management (MCM), Graduate School of Management (GSM), and the second floor of the Anderson School of Management (ASM) building will be closed to the public starting March 17, 2020, until further notice.

Given Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s message to stay at home, all Anderson faculty and staff need to work from home. Access to the buildings are available via key or prox card, but there must be a compelling reason to come to campus.

Remote Advisement

The Anderson Student Services Center will be closed for face-to-face advisement appointments until further notice. However, you will still be able to reach your advisor virtually.

Please log into LoboAchieve to schedule an appointment with your assigned advisor. They will follow up with instructions for your remote appointment.

If you are not yet admitted to UNM, please email andersonadvising@unm.edu and your request will be forwarded on to the appropriate person.

Students are encouraged to remain diligent in checking your email to ensure you are made aware of possible changes to your class sessions.

Credit/No Credit Grading Option

Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham has asked New Mexicans to remain calm while implementing proactive preventative measures, including avoiding large public gatherings, avoiding travel and remaining home if you are sick. Rather than going to healthcare facilities, Governor Lujan Grisham urged people to first call the State’s toll-free hotline at 1-855-600-3453 if they are concerned about having been exposed to the virus or are experiencing symptoms. The State will provide callers with guidance on what to do next.

We encourage everyone to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 through social distancing practices and self-isolation if you have been exposed. UNM and the Anderson School will remain diligent in our efforts to work with public, state, and university directives to ensure the well-being of all in our community. UNM’s strategy to contribute to the national goal to reduce the rate of transmission and infection from this virus is underway.
