March 9, 2023 - Megan Borders

Dr. Jonathan Bundy - Anderson AlumAs part of its Meet the Editor speaker series, Anderson alum Dr. Jonathan Bundy, associate editor for the Academy of Management Review (AMR), recently presented to Anderson School of Management faculty members on his research on cancel culture and best practices for publishing in AMR.

Dr. Bundy shared that he and his co-authors are not researching cancel culture as the subject of the research, but how it can affect companies and their brands through their business operations. They assert that companies should be aware of this phenomenon and how it can affect their reputation and public perception. He also shared ways other researchers can expand on this original paper and further understand the effects of cancel culture on companies.

He also offered insights into how to position articles for acceptance by AMR. He advised, “Begin by thinking about what is currently said about your research topic and build onto it, taking it to the next level. You are advancing research by adding to the conversation and moving it forward.”

The Meet the Editor speaker series is presented by Anderson’s Research Excellence Advisory Council. This recurring research seminar allows faculty members to meet and listen to editors of indisputable journals or top-tiered journals speak about their research papers and how to publish in their respective journals.

The next Meet the Editor seminar takes place Friday, April 14, featuring Dr. William Megginson, the finance editor for the Journal of International Business.
